Spice Market @Hyatt Regency
Last week I had been to another lunch outing with a even bigger group (50+). Usually none of the hotels allow reservation for such a big group in their buffets, but we did manage to get reservation in Spice Market in Hyatt thanks to the resourceful admin manager of my company. For one, Spice Market restaurant was huge and the buffet layout was quite different from other buffets. There are different sections - tandoori/kebab/roti items, rice and side dishes, Chaat and Salad and Desert Section. I mainly tried Salad, Tandoori and Deserts. The Salads I tried were good. Tandoori Paneer and Aloo items were quite good. I did not like the Fish Kebab. I did not try Chaat items. There were a lot of options in the Dessert section and I had a go at it. I would say you can do justice to the money you are paying in the dessert's itself if you are not conscious of the calories! The baked yogurt was excellent. The hot brownie and mango pudding were very good. Tiramisu was not bad, but not as good as the one i had in Tuscana. Overall the buffet was good and probably the best that I had in Chennai.
Paprika Cafe @Courtyard Marriott
I am not a big fan of buffets. Given a choice I would prefer Ala Carte, but Buffet is the best option for bigger groups in terms of variety, cost and time.
So recently I had been to a lunch outing with my colleagues. We choose the buffet at Paprika Cafe in the Courtyard Marriott. At 600 per person with Snapdeal offer it was reasonably priced. Also all except one in our group haven't been there. The buffet is generally ok and as such doesn't stand out in anything, except that you could get freshly made pizzas and sandwiches as part of buffet. Overall it is decent and decent value for money

Stix @Hyatt Chennai
Been to Stix restaurant for dinner with some colleagues visiting from US and China. Liked the U shapped bar counter type seating and the open kitchen setting where you can see the cooking.
About the food, it was generally quite good. The fried baby corn and tofu starters were pretty good, dumplings were ok. Fried rice looked like steamed rice and tasted ok.
Fried noodles were ok, but sichuan soupy noodles was spicy and very good. Stir fried vegetables and string beans were also good. Generally the dishes had a generous amount of red chilles, which just suited me fine. I did notice that they served Basa fish, which is a farmed fish from Thailand or Indonesia and about which i had read recently articles advising to avoid.
My Ratings
Food Quality: 3.5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Value For Money: N/A

Onam Sadya at Isha Mahamudra
First I have to say about the last years Onam Sadya lunch at Ente Keralam. The experience was not good as you can read in a couple of posts below. So this year I wanted to try something different and after seeing ad's , I suggested to my friends that we go to Isha's Mahamudra restuarant. I had been to Mahamudra a few times before and generally liked their food and ambience. The added benefit is it will not be as expensive as Ente Keralam and other is you can be sure that the food would be healthy. The food as I expected was quite good and tasty as well. There were 20+ dishes in the meal and overall it was a good meal. The service was also good, though I could figure out that some of the waiter's were volunteers and not professionals. The price was reasonable at 400 per person.
